About Us
How We Started
Nafisa Kapasi (co‑founder) had always been that friend in the group everyone went to, to buy quality and beautiful kurtis. She knew real chikankari work, which shops in Lucknow had the best artisans, and what fair prices looked like.
But by 2024, finding authentic pieces was getting harder. Good quality was either highly priced or just wasn't there anymore., Genuine chikankari felt like it was disappearing from regular stores.
Her son, Ali (now co‑founder), noticed her frustration. "You have such a good eye for this, Mumma, other women would want to know what you know."
That's when it clicked - good artisans needed buyers, women wanted authentic pieces, and Nafisa knew both sides of the story!

The Name That Chose Itself
Al Saba comes from the first letters of Nafisa's granddaughters, Areefa and Sabiha, honoring the next generation who will carry these traditions forward.
It also means "The Morning" in Arabic, which felt like destiny - a fresh dawn for ancient crafts.

When Friends Became Family
What started as a mother-son venture took an exciting turn in August 2025. Ali's friends Kevin, Karman, and Simar saw the love Al Saba was getting locally and knew it needed to reach women everywhere.
They were right. What started as local exhibitions had the potential to reach women everywhere who valued authentic craftsmanship but couldn't access it.
Four young minds with different skills and a shared vision of making authentic Indian embroidery accessible to their generation and beyond.
What Drives Us
We believe fashion is a bridge Between generations. Between cultures. Between the hands that create and the hearts that appreciate.
Every piece tells a story of Lucknow artisans whose families have perfected their craft over generations, of techniques that have survived centuries, and of beauty that deserves to be celebrated.
We're not trying to save the world. We're simply trying to ensure that when a young woman wants beautiful, authentic pieces, she doesn't have to choose between quality and affordability.
Our Promise to You
When you choose Al Saba, you're getting pieces personally selected by Nafeesa - the same standards she'd apply for her own family. You're supporting artisans who are fairly compensated for their exceptional work. You're wearing history that's been reimagined for today.
We're not the biggest or flashiest brand, but we're building something genuine, where your grandmother's love for craftsmanship meets your modern lifestyle.
With love and pride in what we're building together,
Team Al Saba
From our family to yours - authentic beauty, crafted with care.
